What you see
Progress
A scan runs in three steps: “Fetching product details”, “Reading the listing” and “Finding comparables and prices”. Before a worker picks it up it shows “Waiting in queue”.
Product and category
The header shows the product’s title, its store, its price on that store and the category Cartura matched it to. To choose the category, Cartura compares the product’s title by meaning with every US TikTok Shop product it tracks, takes the 50 nearest, and lets them vote for a top-level category, closer products counting for more. The similar products and the prices below all come from that category.
Category median, mean and price range
These come from the category’s newest weekly price distribution, in which each listing counts once for every unit sold since its previous observation, and at least once. The median is that distribution’s middle price, shown with the live count of the category’s active listings. The mean is estimated from the distribution’s price bands, each band taken at its midpoint, with the outlier bands left out. The price range runs from the lowest to the highest price of the category’s usual range, outliers excluded.
Free shipping
The share of that week’s distribution, weighted the same way, that ships free.
Price history and price distribution
The category’s weekly median over time, and the newest week’s price bands, read the same way as on Category Insights.

Profit calculator
It answers “sell how many units at this price to make this profit”. The price starts at the category median when there is one, and the unit cost at the product’s price on its store; shipping starts at zero. Profit per unit is the price minus a 6% fee, the unit cost and shipping; the margin is that profit as a share of the price; the units figure is your profit goal divided by the profit per unit, rounded up. Break-even is the price at which profit per unit reaches zero. The Break-even, Median and Mean marks on the slider jump to that price.
Common questions
What does “taking longer than expected” mean?
Once a scan has left the queue, the page checks for results while it is on screen. If a section has none after two minutes, the page stops checking and says that section is taking longer than expected. The scan may still finish: refresh the page to check again.
When do my scans come back?
Each product you scan from a link uses one scan. The allowance resets once a day, all of it at once, and the start screen shows how long until it does. Scanning the same product again on the same day does not use another scan.
Where do my past scans go?
The start screen lists your recent analyses with the product, its store, its price and when you ran it. Choosing one runs it again. Products you want to keep can be saved; see Saved products.
The table below shows what each plan includes; prices are on the Pricing page.
